Modern Ancient Glass
One day workshops are held in my Findlay, OH studio. Classes are small due to limited space, and are filled on a first-paid, first-reserved basis.  Please contact the studio if you have any questions, or to request a future class!  For three-day studio workshops, click HERE.
  • This introductory class is specially designed for kids!  You'll get to design and build your own 8” x 8” fused and slumped plate, while learning the fundamental concepts of creating glass objects in the kiln. Choose from a wide range of colorful glasses to make your plate special. Plates will be fired after the workshop and available for pick-up a few days later.  No experience with glass is required for this course, which is recommended for beginners.

The Super Great... Eight By Eight Plate!

  • In this fun, hands-on 2.5 hour workshop,  you'll design and create your own 8” x 8” fused and slumped glass appetizer plate! Choose from a wide range of colorful glasses to make your plate special. You'll learn the fundamentals of creating fused glass objects in the kiln, as well as how to cut glass, bend stringer, and utilize glass frit in your designs.  Plates will be fired after the workshop and will be available for pick-up a few days later.  No experience with glass is required for this course.

Sea Life "Coral Bowls"

Create a free-form coral-themed art piece in this class, inspired by nature!  You'll learn several techniques for creating a unique, decorative piece that you can display on a table or a wall, by itself, or in groupings! Your piece will be fired, slumped, and available for pick up the following week. This class is suited for all skill levels, all materials provided.

Intro to Glass Sgraffito Drawing: 
"The Gesture of a Tree"

Intro classes are a great hands-on way to 'get your feet wet' and try glass powder sgraffito drawing for the first time!  In this 1.5 hour class, you'll learn all about how to draw different types of trees using glass powders and colorful glass frit.  You'll experiment with several techniques, and then create your own small glass tree drawing.
All materials, tools, and kiln firing provided, no experience necessary!

Intro to Glass Sgraffito Drawing: 
"The Artistic Vase of Flowers"

This intro class is a fabulous way to try your hand at drawing with powdered glass 'sgraffito style'! You'll create a small glass drawing of a still-life floral arrangement in an artistically designed vase using powdered glass and colorful glass frit. Don't think you can do it?
You can! All materials, tools, and firing provided. No experience necessary.
